North carolinaThere are 3 types of soil in North Carolina. One being Cecil soil which is deep, well-drained soil found on slopes and ridges. The second type is Sandhill soil which is a loose, gray sandy soil. The last type is Organic soil which are black and mucky.

South carolinaThe soil types vary from where you are at in South Carolina. In the Piedmont, there's 8 inches of of dark and sandy soil topping heavy red clay. In the Central Region, it's light and sandy also topped with heavy clay or sandy soil that's perfect for farming. Near the coast, it's strictly sandy soil with no clay.

GeorgiaIt would be a crime to say that the only soil type in Georgia is red clay. Although the suburban areas are mostly red clay. Other types include China clay, Agricultural soils, organic soil, sand and clay. China clay is like red clay. Agricultural soil has organic matter in it. Organic soil is nutrient rich. Sand and clay is, well, sand and clay.

MarylandMaryland's soil contains many types of metals and in some places, high percentages of led. This could be poisonous to younger children who eat anything that grew in these soils. If you want to grow anything, use organic material and make sure the soil is well drained.

VirginiaVirginia's soil is formed from sediments. This soil is very deep and well-drained. It's also known as Pamunkey soil. This typically has a sandy loam surface layer and sandy clay underneath.
